very good, as a reference

The Designer's Guide to Vhdl, by Peter J. Ashenden is a very good book for all level of Vhdl programming. Tutors the basic to advance level programming in Vhdl. Extensively covers the Behavior Modeling by many examples and case studies. If you are looking something on synthesis, this book does not cover whole lot on it, but it's worth buying for reference since the price of the book is not that expensive compare to others.

Title: Final Fantasy IX Official Strategy Guide

Awful.

This has got to be the worst strategy guide for any game I have bought, EVER!
I'm comparing it to the strategy guide for Final Fantasy VII, also published by Brady Games, a couple of years ago. The one for FF7 had detailed maps, and instructions on getting EVERY item, beating EVERY monster, and finding ALL of the secrets. That is what I expect if I'm going to pay money. I can get a rough outline for free online, and this is exactly what the FF9 book is.
What makes me most angry is the blantent coverup of the book's incompetance (sp) by telling me to get the 'real' info [online]. This is just a cheap ploy to keep the book thin, and save the publisher money, by leaving out more than 50% of the information, and posting it on a semi-complete website somewhere.
I regret buying this, and will probably buy another, more complete guide for the game if one becomes available before i figure everything out on my own.

Title: PMP Exam Prep (4th Edition)

Representative of the exam

The problem with the Exam Prep guide is that it an useful book (like any other popular guides/courses in the market) only for taking the PMP exam. The method adopted in the book is crude. It may be useful for a mediocre reader.
There are quite lot of assumptions and mistakes in the content of the book and these can be pointed out by experts of the specific nine knowlege areas.
Not considering the exam point of view, this book rather dilutes the intent of the PMBOK. PMBOK is a wonderfully compiled material that binds project management into a more exact science.
