This is the one book I keep on top of the monitor because I use it so often! An excellent quick-reference for those rarely-used tags. The "character entity chart" is also very useful.

Wow - I thought I knew Premiere Pro...

...but I had no idea how little I knew! Rosenberg is not only a Premiere Pro wizard; he's also the best teacher of this kind of stuff I've ever come across. The book is written with depth, clarity, and the all-important human touch that is missing from so many other books of this type.
It's literally made my workflow 3 to 4 times faster, which means a lot in my (small) business.
I can't say enough good things about this book.

Turned Out Not To Be A Strategy Guide At All

What promised to be a strategy guide for the latest Final Fantasy RPG turned out to be a list of keywords for a strategy guide that is at their online site. It is very inconvenient to have to get up and log on a computer to go to the website every time you have a question. I don't know what someone who does not have a computer or is not online is supposed to do. The cover claims this book is enhanced by the website, but the book does not have much useful information in itself. YOU ARE BETTER OFF SAVING YOUR MONEY!

Good for radio theory, not for understanding mobile tech.

The first 440 pages are concerned with the theory behind radio transmission, radio link calculation, propagation models, modulation techniques and Multiple Access Technologies (FDMA, TDMA, FHMA, CDMA, etc.) . Although all this theory is explained in many books, this book could be a convenient source for most you have to know about radio (layer-1). However, this book is very poor regarding the mobile standards (just one chapter), that was the info I was looking for. For understanding the upper layers in the mobile architectures, look for a more recent book, specific to your technology (GSM, D-AMPS, IS-95, etc)
