Best DB Design and DB Theory book on the market!!!!

This book is top notch...I've read many DB design books, but this one took the cake..When I took my database design class at my university, the professor was great, but the book was even BETTER!!!! I never knew about "normalizing data" until I saw this book and took the class!!! The theory, concepts, examples, and illustrations are 5-star quality!! I still use this book today, and its more than a year passed now, when I need to look up or refresh myself on a concept...Excellent learning tool, as well as a great reference for DB design....Only one problem, the book is "big" in size!!! Get it IF you can!!!

Don't waste your money.

I never thought I could waste my money buying a strategy guide because at the very least I would be getting some helpful hints. How wrong I was. This is the worst "official" strategy guide I've ever seen, and a total waste of money. This book does have some helpful info, but what makes this book stand out is what it lacks. This is the last time I make the mistake of buying *any* book without checking Amazon's reviews first. Basically the other reviewers are right -- there are these "keywords" scattered on virtually every page of the walkthrough. The keywords allow you to read a more detailed hint on some web site. Um, hello, what did you think I just spent my money for? How would you like it, for example, if you wanted to read "War and Peace," paid money for the book, but instead received the Cliffs' Notes version of the book, which provided links for you to read the actual text on the internet, on a web site that doesn't work? I buy strategy guides because I want a complete, exhaustive source of information for a particular game all in one book. If I wanted to go online for hints, I would have just downloaded one of the free complete walkthroughs on the net that has all the answers in one spot (which is exactly what I ended up doing). If BradyGames wanted to be accurate, they should have called this the "Official, but Incomplete" strategy guide. Don't buy this book unless you want to experience being totally ripped off.

The one to Buy!!

I've bought 3 other iPod books. Two were to basic but had some goodies and one was a "waste" in my opinion.

The iPod & iTunes book by Kirk REALLY adds to my knowledge base and shows he KNOWS(!) the iPod and iTunes. He goes beyond a simple product manual and tells you HOW TO GET THINGS DONE.

I highly recommend the book and ask why it took so long to come out.

Thanks Kirk!

Title: Sams Teach Yourself SQL in 10 Minutes, Third Edition

Worth more than it's price

This little book serves as a great reference for novice to intermediate users. Also a good brief intro for beginners with the SQL syntax.
The reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars, was that author put the info and data for the table setup in the appendix. If you are a new user, you probably won't know that you are supposed to create these tables and then alter them with the constraints. It would have been nice to download the text from a website instead of typing all the data to insert.
Other than that, a great book.
